사소한 잘못이라도 저지르지 마라
Do not do even slight wrong

악한 일을 하지 않는 것이 좋으리.
악행은 뒷날 고통을 가져오게 되네.
선행을 하고서 후회하는 일 없으니
착한 일을 하는 것이 더욱 좋으리.
It is better not to do an evil deed
an evil deed torments one later on.
it is better to do a good deed as one does not
grieve for having done it.

덕 있는 이들은 행복하다
The righteous are happy

부주의하게 살아서는 안 되고
덕 있게 살려고 스스로 애써야 하리니.
그런 사람은 이 세상과 다음 생에서 모두 행복하네.
A man should not live heedlessly but should exert himself to live righteously.
Such a man is happy in this world and in the next.
